Nexus Housing and Kemble Housing change trading name to West Mercia Homes

Two Midlands housing associations, which joined forces to become one organisation in 2013, have changed their trading name to “reflect the fact that they are now one united team”.

Nexus Housing, based in Worcester, and Kemble Housing, based in Hereford, both part of WM Housing Group, kept their original brands after joining forces but following consultation with staff, customers and stakeholders they will now trade under the single name of West Mercia Homes.

Peter Gill, managing director of West Mercia Homes, said: “The change will improve our business in a number of ways – ensuring consistency of approach, greater sharing of best practice and improved flexibility, as well as strengthening team spirit.

“The move also mirrors our staff contracts, customer tenancy agreements and our board of management, which all relate to West Mercia Homes.

“Nothing operationally will change from the perspective of our customers and stakeholders. It will continue to be business as usual here but, going forward, we will all be working under one name.”

WM Housing Group manages over 30,000 homes across Coventry, Birmingham, the West Midlands, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Founded in 1998, the group consists of Herefordshire Supported Housing for Young People Project (SHYPP), Family Optima, West Mercia Homes and Whitefriars Housing.
