Developer hands over properties in Bowers Gifford to Basildon Council’s Sempra Homes

Three one-bedroom terraced houses in Bowers Gifford have been handed over to Sempra Homes, a commercial arm of Basildon Council.

The properties, on the site of the former Bull public house on London Road, were developed by JP & MD Properties Ltd as part of Basildon Council's planning permission requirement for the developer to provide affordable homes.

They will be let at affordable rent levels within the local housing allowance rates for Basildon to people on the council’s homeseeker register.

Basildon Council is investing £21 million into a social housing build programme over the next five years as well as a further £16 million each year in its existing housing stock and estates over the next 10 years.

Over the next few months Sempra will start its new homes build programme at the Space site, in Long Lynderswood, Basildon, where it plans to develop 20 two-bedroom shared ownership apartments along with car and cycle parking and associated landscaping.
